Applications
of Optix 400H
<<Previous |
 |
 |
| The
Optix 400H is derived from Optix 400M and has
a high resolution lens which can provide more
detailed feature definition than the Optix 400M.
It is suitable for small and medium size parts
scanning and serves as a middle solution between
the Optix 400S and 400M.
The
Optix 400H provides a high accuracy and may
be used to image targets ranging from 100mm
(4") to 400mm (16") in size. Additionally,
larger targets may be imaged by combining multiple
scans, which is easily accomplished using our
software.

Typically,
the largest market for 3D graphics is manufacturing.
The product development process incorporates
3D graphics in all phases - from conceptual
design, detailed part and assembly design to
shop floor manufacturing. Within these areas
are specialized requirements that can benefit
from the application of 3D graphics. Digital
design proliferates on the desktop. However,
there is an untapped opportunity to provide
this market with a practical way to convert
physical models into digital models. This process
has application in the following areas and is
closely related to computer-aided design (CAD),
computer-aided engineering (CAE), and computer-aided
manufacturing (CAM): |
| |
•
Retrofitting, modification
• New product design using existing physical
model as a basis
• Tooling from physical model
• Verifying the geometry of manufactured
parts, which is an essential part of modern quality
assurance and process control methods
• Pattern regeneration
• Rapid prototyping |
| Many
applications exist for 3DD scanners in the medical
field including: |
| |
-
Forensics
- Prosthetic
design
- Reconstructive
surgery
